Many ways: Simply being in water is relaxing for most people. When we're stressed we have an overactive sympathetic nervous system; warm water tends to activate our parasympathetic nervous system which relaxes us. Also showering helps us to be present in the moment which is also relaxing. But I advise other ways to calm as well, such as meditation, which I recommend everyone learn; see videos on youtube.
