Ice/image: Apply ice, a splint to avoid use and use Motrin for pain control. Please have an x ray to determine whether the finger is broken. The nail pressure and bleeding underneath may result in the loss of the nail itself. Please see your physician to determine if the nail is at risk and whether a small puncture in the nail is needed to relieve the pressure.
