Amyloidosis: If you're referring to a blood test to determine the presence of primary amyloidosis, usually the specimen of blood is sent to a specialty laboratory that can perform an.assay for the presence of abnormal amounts of serum kappa & lambda light chains that are present in systemic amyloidosis. An amylase test detects presence of pancreatic inflammation when amylase is elevated.
