Went to er and they said i have a spastic colon. the pain is severe. they gave me bentyl. it doesn't seem to be working yet. does it take a while? is there anything i can do to relieve the pain?

Early follow up: Is needed as severe pain is relatively uncommon in spastic colon. Make sure constipation is not possibly contributing and you can pass gas, also light massage may help. The main issue will be a degree of obstruction and early follow up is needed in order to get a sense of what is actually going on and your PCP should be involved as soon as possible.
