Common pattern: Many self healing viruses will end with a rash after the initial fever & symptoms . The specific pattern of the rash can often be used to identify the virus without testing.

If persists: If the symptoms persist or worsening occurs, please have a throat culture. Strep is one possible cause. If there is recurrent fever and rash, please also discuss the diagnosis of Kawasaki disease with your pediatrician. From your description though, viral causes including COVID 19 (SARS CoV-2) and Influenza should also be considered. Continue to offer fluids, monitor temperature and report fever.
