A member asked:

Can an unruptured aneurysm be sore, swollen (marble sized), and palpable in the neck, a little left and/or right of the cervical spine where the skull starts? about c1 height? or would neck muscle thickness prevent any ability to feel any aneurysms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Etiology: It would be unusual to possess a focal carotid aneurysm and more likely there is a focal lymph node enlargement. This could be associated with a dental or tonsillar infection. Contact your doctor and investigate the cause of the swollen mass.
