Steam burn: Most physicians use silvadene, (silver sulfadiazine) a prescription antibiotic cream, for second and third degree burns. For first degree burns, you are fine to use moisturizers containing aloe. For all burns, keep area clean and monitor for any signs of infection. If burns are extensive or you feel ill overall because of the burn, you must see a⁰ doctor.

Steam burn: Ice, immediately. Take Ibuprofen as per package directions. If burn area starts to blister, see your GP, Urgent Care, or E?R immediately.
