Can i take robaxin (methocarbamol) for globus throat spasms?

Throat spasms: If what you mean by throat spasms is that you have vocal fold dysfunction, the answer is no. This is treated with a specialized type of speech therapy that is usually quite successful. If you have muscle tension dysphonia, it is unlikely that this would help to a large degree, and certainly would only be temporary. Both of these conditions should be diagnosed by an ENT who can direct you based on his or her examination.

May not work: Methacarbamol (robaxin), a centrally acting anti-spasmodic medication ("muscle relaxer") with zero direct activity on muscles. In simple terms, it tricks the brain to trick the body. It is one of the safer anti-spasmodic agents and ideally only used for short term treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as sprains. In refractory cases of globus spasm, the choice is at the discretion of the dr.
