For what: The first question is what do you have? Maybe neither medication is needed. Hydrocodone is addicting and a contract medication. Do you need it? What else was tried first? Is the Robaxin (methocarbamol) for the same problem? It is not addicting and would try it first.

For what?: Robaxin (methocarbamol) is a muscle relaxant, so is best for things like muscle spasm. Hydrocodone is an opioid that works on most types of pain. Your doctor can determine which, if either or both, is best and safest for you.
