Ensure hydration: Gastroenteritis is frequently caused by virus. It causes inflammation in the intestines and stomach and results in vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. Typical course lasts 3-7 days. Your goal with babies is to maintain their hydration. Give Electrolyte solutions (50-100ml) every 30 minutes or so throughout the day and watch for 4-5 wet nappies to confirm that they are getting enough fluids.
