See a gynecologist: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) causes menstrual irregularity and androgen excess in women. Classic features are hirsutism and irregular menstrual cycles. High androgen levels will also cause acne, male pattern baldness, and hair loss. A gynecologist can sort this out with an ultrasound and blood tests and may be able to treat her with estrogen/progesterone combination birth control medications.
