Burn on hand 2nd degree treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Burn treatment: Run under cold water until no longer "feeling hot". Then apply antibiotic ointment or Silvadene if available liberally and put sterile dressing on. Do NOT pop any blisters. If area on hand is extensive and/or crosses joints to wrist or fingers, should be evaluated by physician within first 24 hours. Hand burns not to be taken lightly! Use Tylenol/ibuprofen for pain. Change dressings every 12 hours
