Months ago, i had a painful abscess upper right pubic area. my right lymh node welled up and was painful too, had a fever and chill. was this a herpes infection? do genital herpes affect the upper pubic area? or is it a different infection?

Unlikely herpes: It is very unlikely that was a herpes infection. That infection does not usually abscess and/or cause chills and fever. It was most likely a staphylococcus infection. Drainage is the main treatment, often combined with antibiotics.
