PHN: Shingles can be complicated by a condition known as post-herpetic neuralgia (phn) which may present as "pain along a strip of skin". Pain, sometimes severe, is a common feature of phn.Symptoms generally resolve after a few months, not uncommonly present even up to a year & beyond that is some. Vaccination with the shingles vaccine is recommended, even in those who've had it in the past.
