Eustachian tube: You most likely reflexes some water up the Eustachian tube on the involved side. This usually does NOT lead to an ear infection, just the V ear feeling "plugged" and possibly decreased hearing on the involved side. You should do the things they tell you in an airplane to "pop" your ears. Yawn, blow with nose plugged. chew gum, etc. Can try a decongestant, although those usually don't help much.
