Constipation: Use a triple prong approach: First increase the amount of water the child is taking in by at least double. 100 ml every 30 minutes. Include additional apple or pear juice. Second administer mineral oil to lubricate the intestinal passage. 15ml twice a day. Lastly, administer stool softener 3 times a day. If this does not work in 24 hrs an enema may be needed to soften the impacted stool.
