Some infection...: Depending on if One smokes or not and if there are close contacts with similar symptoms; a yellowish mucus and salty sputum indicate some infection in the breathing tubes or Lungs( Bronchitis/Pneumonia). These usually require some antibiotic treatment. Having a Doctor listen to the Chest- helps with faster diagnosis and treatment plan. Best to see Doctor, other Studies may be indicated.
