I was using metformin 2000mg p/d but had lactic acidosis. my doctor prescribed actraphane 30iu morning and 15iu night. i have never used insulin before, my sugar ranges from 6.8 to sometimes 12. my weight is 124.2 i am a bit scared of insulin?

Diabetes insulin: Insulin has a major side effect in that it helps those with DM requiring insulin live healthier and longer. Discuss with your team. Ask about your HbA1c.
