A member asked:

Have had eye/jaw/facial twitch when smiling, raising eyebrow, or making some other facial expressions for about 3 months. has shown great improvement over that time. does facial nerve take this long to heal? should i be concerned with it at all?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Synkenesis: Presume you had Bell’s palsy. If only nerve covering (myelin) is involved, recovery in 3-4 wks, but central axon grows back at fingernail pace, 0.1 mm/ day, so indeed can take months
