My baby is 6 months and has been constipated for 2 weeks. i've given him prunes pear sauce and nothing worked. i took him to dr and the dr prescribed pregicol. i gave baby and it's not working..how long does it take to work?can i give baby olive oil?

Increase fluids: Constipation in babies can typically be corrected by using prune or pear juice (not sauce) 50-100ml twice a day. Constipation typically means that your child is not receiving enough fluids. Try giving him an additional 50-100ml of water plus 50-100ml of prune or pear juice daily. The meds will not work without enough fluids. Olive oil will not help if the stool is too hard to pass.
