Unsafe in depression: Because of your anxiety and depression, Oral Terbinafine would not be the best choice for tinea capitis, as it can make the anxiety and depression worse. A better choice would be griseofulvin which can be used in both children and adults and has a broader safety profile. Talk to your Dr about this prescription option. Treatment takes up to 4-6 weeks.

MEDICATION: Best to discuss medication with your Dermatologist & Psychiatrist. If uncomfortable with your Dr. consult another for a second opinion. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to know if you have a physical illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy with ZOOM sessions. Fears and anxiety could be heightened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay safe & hopeful to elevate your immune system.
