A member asked:

I was recently diagnosed with hashimotos and goiter. since my diagnosis ive had stomach discomfort that gets worse on an empty stomach. after getting a endoscopy/colonoscopy there were no abnormalities. could it be hashimotos related or anxiety?

Possible : You may be still relatively hypothyroid as could take time for meds to stabilize. Your endocrinologist should be an excellent advisor for the next steps

Could be either: Thyroid disease affects your body's metabolism, so your digestion can be affected. Hypothyroid conditions frequently have constipation as a symptom. Hyperthyroid state not infrequently has reflux symptoms and even overt diarrhea. On the other hand, you could be anxious about finding out you have a significant medical disease. Be assured thyroid disease is easily treated if you comply with meds
