A member asked:

So i have had doctors on here say plan b delays ovulation and some say it effects lining? which is it? various published studies say that it does not effect lining at all and only impacts delaying ovulation? is this still open for debate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Plan B ?'s: Plan B is essentially a birth control pill, and therefore contains a progesterone analog. Ovulation will not be prevented or delayed, as the lining of the uterus is converted to a state where implantation is inhibited, allowing a potential fertilized egg to pass without attachment. Plan B does not work 100 % , so sometimes the fertilized egg will attach successfully.
