Optic , neuro- optic: You should get vision testing and correction if needed. Palinopsia is the persistent recurrence of a visual image after the stimulus has been removed. Pathologic are due to lesion in posterior visual pathway In your description, it appears to be physiological afterimages as your afterimage has complementary color of original stimulus.
