I was on depo prevera for 5 years. first year was great, then started having symptoms like nausea, weight gain, low sex drive. i have decided to go off depo and now i think im experiencing withdrawal? very cold, cannot sleep, nausea/ upset stomach?

Normal: Depo provera contain the hormone progesterone. Common side effects include nausea, weight gain, decreased sex drive and absence of periods or spotting. Since you were on it for 5 years, it may take your body several months to recalibrate your natural hormones. Make sure you are using an alternative form of birth control so you don't get pregnant.
