A member asked:

What are the chances of a breech baby second time around? my first baby was head down at 28 weeks and stayed that way until delivery (i made sure to do deep squats to promote good position)and i had a normal vaginal delivery. praying it's the same?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breech position ?'s: Breech position of the fetus is caused by the failure of the fetal head to "lock into" the pelvic basin due to size or positional location of the fetal head at the time of descent of the pregnancy after 30-34 weeks. Manipulation of the breech to convert to a "head down" position by your OB physician may be possible. The chances of a second birth due to breech is reduced, after a vaginal birth.
