Sick child: I'm sorry your child is so uncomfortable. Priorities are: she is breathing, she is drinking fluids, and she is staying hydrated. If she is continually coughing and vomiting, please be aware of how many wet diapers she is having. Encourage sips of warm or cool fluids; soup, flavored gelatin, ice pops are all good. If unable to keep fluid down she may need an ER or urgent care visit.
