Hard to know: If it is a bacterial infection - like Strep, yes an antibiotic will help (Augmentin/Omnicef). It may also be a viral upper respiratory infection.

It might.: Most sore throats associated with cough and fatigue are caused by one of a gazillion viruses out there. But bacterial infections can cause sore throats. Streptococcus is the most common. If I have my math right & you've been sick x 6 days, it's time to get medical care. At the very least, you need a strep test. Feel better soon!
