A member asked:

Can you get csf leaks 10 years after a spinal tap?

Wouldn't happen: The tissues involved would seal over within days as a natural healing event. They would not re-open.

No: This would be extremely unlikely. The factors that predispose to development of post dural puncture headache include use of a larger guage needle, multiple attempts, younger patient age, etc. The typical post spinal headache occurs within days after the spinal tap.

Not possible: Your prior spinal tap has no influence on your current symptoms, but I suppose you could develop problems due to trauma or a new disorder. Since there is no mention of current problems prompting your question, it is not feasible to provide presumptive conclusions. Would suggest Concierge visit to address your concerns in far more detail.
