Does an eeg rule out a brain tumor?

Non specific test: An EEG is rather non-specific test for electrical activity in various (mostly superficial) areas of the brain and does not specifically test for the presence or absence of a tumor. These days, proper scanning (particularly MRI) is the place to start if there is suspicion for brain tumor.

Distinctions: EEG evaluates physiology not anatomy. Structural aberrations best seen with MRI. Discuss these issues with your doctor
