More needed: Before supplements more will be needed in order to understand the cause of your anemia. While many times anemia is iron deficient and supplementing iron is needed, other times anemia is multi factorial and needs to be worked up thoroughly. Start with your GP.

See: I would recommend consulting your physician to determine the cause of your anemia (iron-deficiency, vitamin B or folate-deficiency, etc. ). For a female in your age group, iron deficiency due to heavy periods is a likely cause. Only after diagnosing the cause of the anemia should supplements, such as iron out B vitamins be taken.

Agree with Drs. P&W: It is important to ascertain the cause of anemia and treat the cause. Do see your doctor. In the meantime you may take oral iron and multivitamins to correct iron deficiency which is a common cause of anemia in women of reproductive age. Wish you good health!
