A member asked:

How do you know if a newborn needs some gripe water?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not recommended: Gripe water is an herbal preparation with a variety of ingredients. Since it is not evaluated by the fda, it can contain non-approved substances. There is no clinical evidence that it can help with symptoms. If your infant is fussy, not eating well, or having other symptoms, be sure and see your pediatrician promptly.
