A member asked:

I had a blood test and it said ife serum test a faint band in the lambda is present against a dense polyclonal background while this may represent a reactive /inflammatory process, i have ckd #4 and diabetes, what does this mean should i be concern?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your doctor may wish to measure lambda free light chain level and test urine for monoclonal lambda light chains as that would help in defining the diagnosis. Wish you good health!
