I get cold sores a couple of times a year. this month alone i have gotten 3+. one heals another one comes, in a different spot. what could be causing so many in a short period?

Oral herpes: Recurrent oral herpes outbreaks are random, but this many oubreaks in such a short time is unusual. First be certain that's what you have. Cold sores occur near the lips, i.e. outside the mouth, or elsewhere on the face. Some people call sores inside the mouth cold sores, but they are canker sores -- entirely different and not caused by herpes. Also, pimples can and other things can look similar.
