Kidney stones: Kidney stones can cause very severe flank or abdominal pain and urethral stining pain as a stone is passed from the bladder. Constipation can only be related to kidney stones if your fluid intake is insufficient. Dehydration can be one cause of constipation or kidney stones, but, kidney stones alone do not cause constipation or other way around. Increase your water intake to 8 glasses per day

Agree with Dr. K: Drinking water will help in passing the stone and also with constipation. You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
