Dermatographism: This dermatographism, or skin writing, is akin to having hives and the cause is usually elusive. It may resolve on its own. In the meantime think of anything you recently ate or took that could have triggered this skin reactivity. For relief take an antihistamine like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy). In my experience, hydroxyzine is most effective(causes drowsiness,need script)
