A member asked:

My asthma has caused my airways to narrow and my lungs to inflate. i was told that this distress signals the accessory muscles of the neck and chest into action. could this be why ive experienced an uptake in tension(?) headaches and neck pain?

Yes: Musculo skeletal pain may result in tension headaches and neck pain. if you are using your neck muscles and chest wall muscles to breathe, this may result in fatigue of the muscle and pain associated. The control of your asthma is important to review, and a virtual consultation is available on Healthtap. Avoid pollen, smoke, dust, animal dander.
