Dr. or ER can check: Many things are in the abdomen: stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, gall bladder, appendix, large intestine, abdominal muscles, kidneys, etc... An exam by a primary care or Emergency Room doctor can help figure things out. "Severe pain" usually means an ER visit, and a surgeon's exam is sometimes needed. Stomach flu, food poisoning, other infections, etc., can also cause pain.
