If you need to but.: This medication may pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Antihistamines and decongestants may also slow breast milk production. The amount in the breast milk may not be enough to hurt the baby but may reduce flow of breast milk. There are other medications you could use like Tylenol for headache and use chest rub with like Mentholatum to help the congestion. I hope you feel better.

Yes, BUT.....: While most of the OTC cold remedies for your sinus problems would be safe to take while breastfeeding, there is a huge side effect! Just like they dry up your nose, they dry up your breasts and your milk supply may drastically reduce or worse, you could lose your supply altogether. You can take Tylenol for headache. For congestion, use saline rinses to decongest your nose and drink lot of fluid
