Pressure changes: Typically ear popping happens secondary to pressure difference between the inner ear and the atmosphere. This is secondary to eustachian tube failing to equilibrate the difference. Allergies or inflammation or congestion in your throat and sinuses can narrow the tubes opening. Using allergy medications can help. Sometimes inner / middle ear infection can also cause similar symptoms.
