Can't say: This is a question you need to pose to the docs who know his case. The re-direction of the penile opening from hypospadias is complex & every case is unique. Have the kid evaluated by the team that did the work.

Fistula: Your description suggests that there is a fistula present. It is not likely to close on its own. Take your son to a pediatric urologist who can assess it and recommend the correct surgical treatment.
