Hi doctors! my gastroenterologist wants me to take benefiber 2x/day for intermittent constipation. i haven't used it yet. i used the restroom yesterday and today..watery-like stools. should i still take the benefiber or wait or do i do something else?

Irritable bowel?: This sounds like irritable bowel syndrome, which I think we have discussed previously -- right? Fiber treatment isn't a laxitive; it often improves all IBS symptoms, including diarrhea as well as constipation. Take the fiber as your doctor prescribed. If symptoms continue or you remain concerned, contact the doctor. A distant forum expert can't help much more than this advice. Good luck.
