Is it possible to have chronic back and rib pain after a real bad throwup? what should be the cure for the same?

Yes: With violent coughing people have been known to fracture ribs, strain muscles or even tear muscles. The same could occur with intense vomiting. One of my patients ruptured his esophagus trying to stop an intense vomiting episode. If your xray doesn't show a rib fracture, a nuclear bone scan may. Your MD can evaluate and advise you.
