A member asked:

Why do i get another period a week after my last? it is not the usual period. it has a much lighter flow (can be handled with a pantyliner), looks thicker rather than liquidy, and is browner than usual. this typically lasts for 5 days?

Options : There are multiple options. Hormonal treatments such as birth control pills, Progesterone treatments, and the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud are effective reversible treatments that will help many people. There is also a drug called Lysteda that contains no hormones which will help others. Your doctor may want to do a sonogram or a sonohystogram to evaluate for polyps and other potential causes.
