A member asked:

Hbsag test was negative at 7 weeks of exposure. am i ok? or should i test again? my liver enzymes were elevated but i heard that the hbsag can be detected 1-10 weeks after exposure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: The incubation period for Hep B can be as long as 6 months. It is good that the Hbsag test is negative at 7 weeks, however, you should get additional test for Hep B s ab, Core Ab at 6 months after exposure.
