A member asked:

Can tonsillitis make your tongue numb?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Is your tonsillitis a strep or infectious mono case? It is stated that various causes of throat infections, including tonsillitis, can cause numbness of the nasal passages and throat. I have never seen this however. If your tongue numbness doesn't resolve after your tonsillitis is treated, consult an ENT specialist for evaluation and advice.
