Trauma: You suffered trauma to a complex joint. Do you know if there is internal damage? How long ago did it occur? Is it swollen? Do you have limited range of motion? Has ant-ray or MRI been done? Please, you need to be seen by a physician, preferably by a specialist Orthopedic Surgeon. You may be doing damage by walking on that injured knee.

Knee pain stairs: When we experience knee pain when climbing or descending stairs, it is possible that the cartilage is damaged. Regarding going downstairs, the kneecap slides out of position. Knee pain going down stairs could indicate a problem with the knee cap. Different muscle groups are involved in climbing and descending stairs. This is something that should be evaluated by an orthopedist.
