Lexapro: I virtually always start patients on 5 mg of Lexapro so that they can become used to it. The does can then be raised to 10 mg. It can be increased higher if needed. 20mg is the highest FDA approved dose, but off-label dosing at higher doses may be prescribed.

DISCUSS WITH DOCTOR: I would definitely discuss with the doctor that is prescribing the medication. In general you start low and then work the doe up over time. In general a higher dose is used in OCD.
