Not asthma: Over my 32 years of practicing allergy and Immunology I have seen dozens of patients with a sense that "I can't get a satisfying breath"! I always ask if it wakes you up at night? Are you coughing? Heartburn? Anxiety? New or different medication. Ultimately the diagnosis of "sighing dyspnea" is made and is almost always related to low level anxiety. Still, you should see your PCP.
