Varicocoele surgery : Removal of a varicocoele will cause irritation of surrounding smooth muscle (cremaster muscle in particular) for several weeks after the surgery. If your scrotum is sore, inflamed or swollen, see the surgeon who performed the surgery. The discomfort should go away soon (in another week or two) .
